The Wireless Access Point
(“WAP”) was developed in 2005 by Formation to provide high
performance, secure, manageable and flexible wireless connectivity for
commercial aerospace and military applications. A very successful
Cisco Aironet® 1200 series 802.11 a/b/g access point has been packaged
with Formation’s avionics power supply and multiport Ethernet switch
to provide an avionics-class wireless access point to passengers and
crew.

Formation’s WAP is designed
to evolve with industry changes in radio standards. New Cisco radios
are quickly incorporated into the WAP design for avionics and
transportation applications. Since initial production of the WAP,
Formation has developed or is developing five derivative systems in
response to customer requirements or technology evolution.
